MrSjaakBraak has never published a press release before, but this tremendous first half of the season seems like an apt moment to change that.
Season 50 was a big disappointment and also our worst season since season 41. Partly due to being unlucky, but also due to mismanagement and a loss of interest in the game. However the first half of season 51 has been amazing.
After 49 days, we managed to score 2318 points, which is already a new record for season totals for my squad. We also scored 19 results so far, which is also a new record.
Besides this Sander van Amersfoort has managed to win the YC in the Drozdowski cup, which means we finally won an addition for our palmarès. As the profile of this race suits Sander very well, we'll be sure to come back to this cup to win it in the future!
Another grand achievement for the team was Jordi Wautiers' 3rd position in Vuelta de los Castillos, which was the first ever podium place in a tour for the team. After having finished 4th in Vuelta, Germany and Norway, we are really happy to finally add a podiumplace to our achievements.
These results together, bring us to a 4th place in the seasonal rankings so far, which is much better than we ever did before!
[b]Goals for second half S51 [/b]
The main goal in the second half of the season will be to win the YC in Germany tour with Van Amersfoort. Van Amersfoort will also have his first try at winning Criterium la Provence. Besides that we also want to maintain our place in the season rankings. And we want to get 2 more victories, to beat our previous record of 6 season victories.
Jordi Wautiers has managed to get himself to 2nd place in the rider rankings, which posed a dilemma for the team. As it seems like a great opportunity to fight for the number 1 rider ranking this season with Wautiers to realize this goal, which Zdislav Kyncl has failed to accomplish in the past. However sticking to the plan is what got us back in division 1, thus Wautiers will start to recharge his TF soon.
